Tamil cinema has got a lot movies with friendship as the main theme but Nadodigal is a different movie about friendship and it s got a nice message in it about friendship – “A friend in need is a friend indeed”. The movie begins in the town of Rajapalayam where Karunakaran (Sasikumar), Chandran (Vijay) and Pandi (Barani) are thick friends with different motivations in their life. Karunakaran who is gold medalist in B.A. wants to get a government job that would make his uncle happy. He is in love with Nallama (played by Ananya) who is his uncle’s daughter. Pandi who is ill treated by his step mother wants to go abroad in search of a job. Chandran (Vijay) wishes to set up a computer centre on his own in his town through the help his father who is an ex-serviceman.

He is in love with Pavitha (Abhinaya) who is the sister of Karunakaran. Their life goes smoothly until they find that Saravanan (Ranga) who is the son of fomer legislator Sanghi Pathak (Jayaprabha) tries a suicide attempt.  Saravana is a child hood friend of Karunakaran and so the three friends wish to help him. Sarvanan is in love with duaughter of Pazhanivel Rajan who is the arch rival of his mother. The three friends go to Namakkal to help Saravanan and his lover Prabha. Ganja Karuppu who is also their friend helps them in this venture. Director Samuthrakani has done a good direction and the script is very impressive.

Karuna loses his eyesight in this venture and Pandian becomes deaf while Chandran loses his leg in this venture. But they are very happy that they have helped their friend’s love. But they are shocked and frustrated when they come to know their love is mere infatuation and they soon decide to divorce after marriage. They gear up for second marriage which annoys the three friends.

Sasi Kumar has done his role in an amazing manner and his role is very realistic.  Ganja Karuppu takes care of the comedy track that makes the film interesting. The music scored by Sundar C. Babu is appreciable with the song “Sambo Siva Sambo” becoming a good hit. Cinematgraphy is excellent and natural and Kathir has done his best. The film gets slow after the interval but has a good start and ambience in the beginning. The director has put in two item number songs unnecessarily that do not go in line with the story. The first half is racy entertainer while second half is a bit slow.

Nadodigal is really an amazing movie to watch with friends and family.
