Whether it was Freida Pinto in a blue number on the red carpet for her hit film Slumdog Millionaire or Jennifer Lopez in a white full-length dress, one shoulder dresses have been a constant favourite for spring-summer.
And the woman who sets the trend and addicts follow is the waif-thin beauty Kate Moss. And the lady decided to wear a one-shoulder long black draping dress in Beijing for the Vogue event.
Says designer Jyoti Jain, “Even Michelle Obama wore a Jason Wu white Swarovski embellished evening gown for the inauguration evening ball. So it is certainly in, as the lady knows her style.”
Even Rachel Bilson was seen wearing a tulip-shaped number which fell just above the knee. The good part is that you can make them fun by adding cute ruffles, pin tucks or just give them an edge by a balloon hem at the bottom.
As the season is all about greens and yellows, one saw the international runway showcasing beautiful draping from designers like Calvin Klein and Donna Karan. The fashion queen Victoria Beckham also flaunted a toga style tunic dress, while some fashionistas can’t seem to get enough of asymmetrical dresses.
